May 16, 2011 - E.ON has inaugurated the Malženice power plant

The new E.ON combined-cycle power station in Malženice (near Trnava, western Slovakia) has been officially inaugurated today in the presence of representatives of the national government, regional and local authorities, and the general contractor.

 

January 10, 2011 - New E.ON combined gas and steam turbine power station in Malzenice starts commercial operations

  • 430 megawatt power station reaches efficiency of more than 58 per cent
  • Environmentally friendly energy provision for 600,000–900,000 households

At the beginning of the year E.ON commenced operations at its new gas and steam turbine power station in Malzenice (Trnava region). The environmentally friendly and highly efficient plant has a gross electricity output of 430 megawatts and generates more than 3 billion kilowatt hours annually. Stated amount of electricity is equivalent to the average consumption of 600,000–900,000 households. The efficiency of the power station is over 58 per cent, which is among the highest in Europe.

 

October 6, 2009 - Foundation stone laid for Malženice power plant

On October 6th the foundation stone of E.ON’s new eco-friendly, combined-cycle power plant has been laid in Malženice, Trnava region. The symbolic act has been carried out  by Ľubomír Jahnátek, Minister of Economy of the Slovak Republic, Tibor Mikuš, Chairman of Trnava Higher Territorial Unit, Bernhard Fischer, Member of the Board of Directors of E.ON Energie AG, Konrad Kreuzer, Chairman of the Board of E.ON Slovensko and Rainer Hauenschild representing general contractor Siemens.

 

July 26, 2009 - E.ON at Imrich Stacho Memorial
