Environment
Operating one of the largest networks of power plants worldwide, E.ON is fully aware of its responsibility to the environment. Malženice power plant meets these commitments down to the last dot.
Natural gas is an environmentally friendly energy source with relatively modest CO2 emission levels. Of fossil fuels, such as crude oil, lignite or coal, natural gas has the lowest emission levels. It is almost entirely sulphur-free, and it contains neither fluorine nor chlorine.
The power plant utilises energy obtained from natural gas in the most efficient way. Thanks to its high production efficiency, the impact of the power plant on the environment is negligible. Emission values reached by the power plant are lower than those permitted by applicable standards in the Slovak Republic.
