E.ON Energie AG
With 15 million customers, the German, Munich-based E.ON Energie (EEA) is the leading privately-owned energy provider in Europe. The company employs approximately 45,000 people in the Central European electricity and gas sectors. Energy supply is a service provided to customers primarily on a local level. E.ON Energie, therefore, attaches particular importance to combining its international presence with a regional focus on services provided locally to customers. With an efficient power plant park operating on the basis of a properly-balanced energy mix, E.ON Energie's annual electricity output totals approximately 258 billion kWh, while its gas business produces a total of about 112 billion kWh each year. E.ON Energie is a transnational company and, besides Germany, it is active primarily in Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Romania, and Poland, as well as in the Benelux states, Switzerland, and Austria.
The Hanover-based E.ON Kraftwerke (EKW) operates the traditional thermal power plants of E.ON Energie AG. The company has about 5,000 employees and generates more than 50 billion kWh of power annually. E.ON Kraftwerke is committed to producing electricity reliably and in a way that spares natural resources by using cutting-edge technologies. E.ON Kraftwerke also plays a leading role in the establishment of renewable energy production facilities. The main focus in this regard is on the construction and operation of biomass-fired power plants and wind power plants. In Slovakia, E.ON Kraftwerke is represented by a subsidiary E.ON Elektrárne.

E.ON Elektrárne s.r.o. is the investor and operator of the Malženice Power Plant. E.ON Elektrárne s.r.o. is a fully-owned subsidiary of E.ON Kraftwerke GmbH.
Západoslovenská energetika, a.s.
E.ON has been active in Slovakia since 2002. At present, it is one of the largest foreign investors operating in the Slovak energy sector. E.ON is a 40% owner of the Slovak distribution company Západoslovenská energetika a.s. Across Slovakia, Západoslovenská energetika a.s. supplies and sale power to around 1 million customers. As a leading company in the Slovak energy market, E.ON has made a serious effort to attend to its civil and social responsibilities in Slovakia. On a national level, the company promotes projects in the field of sports, culture, and science, with a particular attention to supporting children and young people.
